The recent indictment of the three men alleged to have been involved in a terrorist plot to attack several financial institutions in New York, Washington and New Jersey, serves as a strong reminder of the potential threats that face this nation. The targeted buildings have been identified by officials as the New York Stock Exchange and Citigroup Center, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and Prudential headquarters, all of which were believed to have been under surveillance by the alleged terrorists between August 2000 and April 2001.
